irishian Co. was founded by Aroot and Victoria Kirishian in 1930 in Tacoma, Washington. Aroot, an Armenian, came to the United States from Turkey as a refugee of World War I.   Rug weaving actually saved the family’s life. Aroot, thankful for his life and safety in the United States,  wove a portrait of President Eisenhower  to express his gratitude.

He and Victoria presented the rug to President Eisenhower personally. It is now in the Eisenhower family museum in Abilene, Kansas.
oday, Kirishian Co. is owned and operated by Aroot and Victoria's son and daughter-in-law Arthur and Mignon Kirishian, who also are committed to the family tradition of integrity and quality in the selling and servicing of Oriental rugs.

You are invited to visit them and the Oriental rugs they have so painstakingly selected from Iran, India, Pakistan, Turkey, Afghanistan, China, and other countries.
